What we do

We are committed to providing individual, bespoke surgical solutions for all of our colleagues at our host clinics and tailor our service to each of your patients as well as your business needs.  Essentially, we offer a seamless extension to your practice’s surgical repertoire building up lifelong relationships with you and your patients.

Our mobile referral surgical service benefits both the referring clinic and client-patient relationship, allowing you to keep your pre and post operative care in-house thus maintaining continuity of care throughout the process and allowing your veterinary practice to continue building and further enhancing your valuable close client relations

Orthopaedic Solutions

We are frequently called to perform TPLO/CCWO/CBLO, stabilising CrCl deficient stifles according to patient size, morphology and age. We treat pelvic limb malalignment to address patella luxation, sometimes concurrent with TPLO and PGR (titanium patella groove replacement).

We also see a steady caseload of HIF, OCD, angular limb deformities and fractures from the more accessible tibial crest avulsions to complex polytrauma and intercondylar T-Y Humeral fractures commonly seen in French Bulldogs and Spaniels.

Soft tissue surgery

Advanced Soft Tissue Surgical Treatments routinely offered by the team include, but are not limited to: BOAS (nares/palatoplasty/sacculectomy); ear surgery (TECA, bulla osteotomies, lateral wall resections); Laryngeal surgery such as unilateral arytenoid lateralisation (“tie backs”) for airway support; through to hernia repairs (perineal, diaphragmatic) and reconstructions (skin flaps, lump resections).

G.I. surgery is available for foreign body removal, intestinal resections and anastomoses (suturing/stapling). Urogenital treatments include cystotomy, urethrotomy and urethrostomy.

Testimonials

“We have nothing but praise for Rory and VetSOS. They are efficient and professional but are also approachable and lovely people, which makes a huge difference when they are coming into your practice. The biggest compliment I can give is that they feel like an extension of our team. It is a real pleasure working with them”

David Chana – Bold Vets, St. Helens

“Rory and his VetSOS team have been an integral part of our clinical services at The Animal Health Centre for many years. I value their commitment to thoughtful patient and client care, outstanding surgical skills, clear communication, and support that our vets can depend on."

Hendrik Fahrenholt, Certvc Mrcvs – The Animal Health Centre, Shrewsbury

“We have used Rory’s services for complex orthopaedic and soft tissue procedures at our practice in Cheshire for several years now. We can only speak highly of Rory, his team, and the service they give our clients and our patients. The clinical care is always excellent, and Rory’s team do their best to accommodate us even at short notice for emergencies. We will continue to use Rory for many years, hopefully!”

The Vet – Warrington

“Woolton Vets have been using the services of Vet SOS for 5 years now. We have built a fantastic relationship with the team and trust that the standard of services offered will always be second to none. Vet SOS respond quickly and efficiently to our queries both for planning of surgical days as well as any potential post-operative questions we may have around recovery. The team are always prompt, arrive in a professionally manner and are extremely courteous to both our staff and clients. The services offered means we can provide continuity of care to our patients whilst still offering the same surgical complexity, which might otherwise only be found by referring the patient away from the clinic. This is seen as a huge positive from the client’s point of view as well as the vets in the practice leading to what we believe is potentially better patient outcomes. Thank you, Rory, and your whole team, for continuing to provide an excellent service.”
